Excerpt From OPEN HOUSE

Not too close now. Let her unlock the front door and step inside to prepare for the opening.

Don't want to appear as an over-anxcious buyer. She could up the asking price, chuckling in appreciation at amusing himself.

Marie glanced nonchalantly in the dirction of slowing car, nodded a smile before key-coding the lock-box, now assuming it just a ride-by.

Parking just beyond, his gloved hand gripped the steel blade easing it into the jacket inside pocket. His left handd lay resting in his lap touchingthe growing hardness long his thigh. Easing from the car he knelt a few feet into the bushes. watching her short skirt tighten as she bent now to retrieve her briefcase before opening the door.

Nathan whispered aloud. "Yeah, unlock it beautiful. I'm right here, and about to place my best offer."

Not an hour later, Detective Jim Paulson and Mendelson Chief, Joe Broderick, stood inside the foyer exchanging observations of the crime scene while Medical Examiner, Dr. Tim Baker, completed an initial exam. Replacing the plastic over Marie's face, he stood, a sigh of disgust exiting his mouth.

Supplementary info describing Marie breaking a silence, "A widow, you know. One child, a daughter, high school senior."

He took in a breath. Releasing it, head bent staring as the body lay in a bloody pool, made shiny by the lit overhanging candelabra. "She didn't suffer. But, poor soul, experienced terrible fright, as you both already observed in her eyes. Wrought with terror. Her facial expression frozen when the fearful realization that this be her final moment."

Fran Silver Bio

Fran Silver has self-published two short novels. The first, "Return To Me," a romance. Not isolated to one genre, he recently published, "Open House," a thriller-mystery. Fran resides in a small Southeast town near Cape Cod enlisting story-line and characters walking his best-buddy, 'Dakota', through the serenity of tall pines and around the numerous bogs of Cranberry-country.
